Scheduled chemical dosing, with no wash signal

Some chemical needs to go in at set times rather than on every car. A Doza Pump can run on a schedule with no wash signal, with the program stored on the pump itself.

What it's for

Use a schedule whenever a chemical should follow the clock instead of the car count. Treating reclaim water is a common example. Water that sits in a pit or tank builds up bacteria and odor, and trade coverage describes a range of treatments, from chemical oxidizers to ozone systems. Where your program uses a liquid product, it can go in on a steady schedule.

Build a dosing program

A pump on a schedule runs a program that you define:

  • Amount per day: in mL, liters or gallons, up to 100 L a day, split equally across the times you choose.
  • Times of day: 1 to 8 doses a day, at least 10 minutes apart, on the site's local time.
  • How often: every day, every 2 to 30 days, or specific days of the week.
  • Phases: up to 4 phases per pump, for example a higher starting program followed by a maintenance program.
  • Lower the amount over time: cut the daily amount by a percentage every so many days, down to a floor you set.
  • Templates: save a program and apply it to any other pump in your organization.

What it depends on

  • Internet: the schedule lives on the pump, so a dropped connection doesn't stop it. Doses made offline are held on the device and reported to DozaLink when it reconnects.
  • Power and the clock: if the device loses power, the schedule pauses until it gets the time back, from Wi-Fi or from Set clock from this phone on the setup page.
  • Missed doses: a dose that could not run is made up within the late limit you set, or skipped and listed in Activity with the reason.
  • No double dosing: the device never pumps more in a day than the schedule plans.
  • Alerts: phone or email alerts when a chemical runs low, a device goes offline, or a pump needs attention.

A record of the program

Scheduled doses appear in Activity along with their volume and cost, and any change to a program appears in the audit log with who made it. Roles control who can change doses, and you can give each person access to only the sites they look after.

What the site needs

Each unit needs a power outlet, a mounting spot indoors and out of direct spray, and 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi for remote management. You provide the chemical container, the suction and delivery tubing, and an injection point. Each unit has two pumps, so it can run a schedule on one pump and a wash chemical on the other.

Common questions

Does scheduled dosing need a signal from the wash controller?

No. A pump on a schedule doses at set times of day, and the relays for that pump are off. The other pump on the unit can still run from wash signals.

What happens if the device loses internet?

The schedule keeps running, because it is stored on the pump. Doses made while offline are held on the device and reported to DozaLink when it reconnects.

What happens if the device loses power?

The pump loses the time, so the schedule pauses until it gets the time back, either from Wi-Fi or from your phone on the setup page. Any dose it missed can still run later, up to a late limit you set, and missed doses are listed in Activity with the reason.

Can the amount start high and come down over time?

Yes. A schedule can have up to four phases that run in order, and a phase can lower the daily amount by a percentage every so many days, down to a floor you set.

Will Doza work with my product?

Send us the product name and safety data sheet and we will check it. Products vary widely, so we would rather confirm yours than promise in general. We can also source custom tubing if your application needs it.
