Doza Pumps vs PULSAtron solenoid metering pumps
PULSAtron pumps are established metering pumps with strong pressure ratings. Doza is built for the car wash: a dose in mL per car, with records, cost and permissions included.
The short answer
Both are real metering pumps. Choose a PULSAtron when you need to inject against high pressure or handle very thick product with the high-viscosity models. Choose Doza when you want each dose tied to a car, its cost and who set it, across all your sites.
Side by side
| Doza Pump | PULSAtron Series E Plus | |
|---|---|---|
| Type | Peristaltic, two pumps per unit | Solenoid diaphragm, one head per pump |
| How the dose is set | mL and mL/s, from DozaLink or at the device | Stroke length and stroke rate |
| Range | 0.1–5.0 mL/s | Models up to 600 gallons per day at 30 psi |
| Pressure | Ask us about your injection point | Models up to 300 psi at 3 gallons per day |
| Chemical path | Only the tube | Diaphragm, valves and head |
| Repeatability | ±1% in bench tests with water; calibrate to your chemical | Check the current data sheet for your model |
| Per-dose records and cost per car | Built in, with DozaLink | Not listed in the base model materials we reviewed |
| Roles and audit log | Built in, with DozaLink | Not listed in the base model materials we reviewed |
Where a PULSAtron is the better pick
- High-pressure injection: it's designed to push chemical into pressurized lines.
- Very thick products: Pulsafeeder lists a high-viscosity series rated to 20,000 cPs.
- Wide material choice: a range of head and seal materials for aggressive chemistry.
- No subscription: there's no monthly fee and no account to set up.
Where Doza is the better pick
- Doses in mL, not strokes: set the amount per car directly, and calibrate at the flow rates you use.
- Tied to your wash controller: run a fixed dose per signal, or run for as long as a signal is on.
- Numbers for the business: use and cost by site, chemical and device, plus estimated cost per car.
- Control: per-location roles, a full audit log, and the option to lock the controls at the device.
- Two pumps per unit: two chemicals from one enclosure, and either input can run either pump.
What to plan for with Doza
The pump tube is a wear part: about 1,000 pumping hours on white Standard tubing and 100 on black Tire Shine tubing, tracked in DozaLink. Remote features need 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi and a DozaLink subscription per device. The unit mounts indoors, out of direct spray.
PULSAtron details are from Pulsafeeder's Series E Plus page and series brochure, reviewed in November 2026. Pulsafeeder also lists a Series E Plus RC model; ask them what it reports. Common questions
What is the difference between a peristaltic pump and a solenoid metering pump?
A solenoid pump pulses a diaphragm, and check valves direct the flow. A peristaltic pump squeezes a tube, so the chemical touches only the tube and there are no valves in the pump. The tube is the part that wears and gets replaced.
Can Doza pump against high line pressure?
Solenoid metering pumps are built for high-pressure injection, with PULSAtron models rated up to 300 psi. If your injection point runs at high pressure, tell us about it and we can check whether Doza fits before you buy.
